Sorrow's Day

Your heart can take no more

and it bursts open like a dam

tears and pain flow freely from it’s veins

and in the moment it explodes from the inside out

you’re blinded by the shock wave

and suddenly  you find yourself in a bloody mess

holding on to the only pieces you have left

and you cling to them like a life line

afraid to let go when its all you have

and it doesn’t matter how hard you’ve fought

because today you’ve lost

and it doesn’t matter that tomorrow has a new dawn

because today the light has gone

and nothing and no one can reach you

because your heart has already died, it’s too late

and this day is marked

forever etched into your heart

and you’ll never forget this day

because today is Sorrow’s Day
