Sam Sheepdog was standing in the rain, happily munching a dog biscuit, when a hole opened up in the ground in front of him. Out of it stepped Bernard Bullfrog, whom he hadn't seen in years. Bernard Bullfrog revealed that he was once again off in search of his long lost cousin, Ignatius, who has last been seen as a tree.

The problem was, Cousin Ignatius, the tree, had no desire to be found, ever since Bernard Bullfrog had tried to sell him to the local lumber company during a moment of financial desperation. Tho Bernard Bullfrog claimed he was ashamed of this act, and wanted to get Ignatius' forgiveness, Sam Sheepdog suspected that Bernard Bullfrog had another scheme in mind. Sam had heard rumors that Bernard Bullfrog had invested in a housing development in Death Valley. Bernard Bullfrog most likely hoped to convince Ignatius and his fellow trees to hang around when he showed the development to prospective buyers.

When Sam Sheepdog finished his dog biscuit, he walked into his house, leaving Bernard Bullfrog alone, who thereupon left in a taxi.
