As his eyes heaved shut, not even the cries of desperation could wake him.

He woke to a silent world.

His eyes fluttered open, a hang subconsciously flinging to his chest. He inhaled a great amount of air, as if he hadn't breathed in a thousand years. He sat up and quickly glanced around him.

He was alone yet again.

He let his eyes shut again, only to be repopened when a droplet rest upon his nose. Lifting his heavy head towards the sky, he squinted at the blood red skies, the clouds crying tears of pain.
He hunched over, his knees slightly pointed upwards and he let his upper body sag to the ground. He heaved a heavy sigh; he had expected this to happen.
