Red Blood, Red Feelings [Humanstuck John x Karkat]

Introduction

Author Note: This is Humanstuck, so everyone is human! Also all credit for Homestuck, the characters, their personalities, outfits, etc goes to Andrew Hussie. Warning: homosexual content, so if you are offended by this you probably shouldn't read. Also, a moderate amount of swearing because Karkat. SPOILERS: And yes, the title is sort of based off of Karkat's "mutant blood" and the whole romance quadrant thing, despite this story being set in a human world. I also made Jade be John's cousin instead of sister, just because I thought it fit better. Anyways, enjoy!

This story is going to be started with one of the most over-used sentences ever: It was an ordinary day in [location]. In this story, that location is a small town of which's name doesn't matter. All that matters right now is that it was an ordinary day on the planet Earth, location unknown. 

Okay, so maybe the town's name does sort of matter. The town is Alternia, located in some state on some continent. It's an odd town name, that's for sure, but the town founder was Cornelius Alternia, hence the name. But this doesn't even matter either. For real this time. It doesn't.

Anyways, a boy named John Egbert lived in this town. And so did his friends, Dave Strider, Rose Lalonde, and Jade Harley. All four had just finished eighth grade - they were fourteen now.

John went to a private religious school called St. Michael's ever since he turned eleven. This was because his (homophobic?) father was worried his son was showing signs of being gay, so he sent him to St. Michael's, even though father nor son were very religious. But his only parent figured this would be good for his possibly-homosexual son, so there he went. And his father's plan worked, at least so far. John became "less gay" and became non-admittedly homophobic himself - but not to the form of hatred, just simply a fear and denial of being so on his own - shameful, maybe? He just wanted his father's acceptance and if running from- no, avoiding homosexual thoughts was how he could do that, it seemed reasonable enough to him.

However, since he was out of eighth grade, John would need to be enrolled in a high school now. John's father couldn't afford to put him in a private one, so he gave in to a public school, Alternia High. (Pretty lame name for a high school, huh?) 

This would be John's second time in a public school, but it would be very different than those elementary years in his old public school. But John had his friends at his side, who would also be going into Alternia High. While Rose and Jade were also with him in St. Michael's, Dave was actually from the old public school John went to. So he was John's closest friend, aside from Jade being John's cousin and all.

So this all seems rather boring, doesn't it? I just thought I should provide you with some background information so you could get to know the characters better. But I guess the rest of the story will do the talking.
