It was dark.
The lights flickered, until they settled at a mundane shade.David opened his eyes only to be inevitably blinded by the brightness of it all. Turning his head, he saw Melissa who hasn't woken up yet.
The clock on her side of the bedside table was green with the numbers six and thirty while the curtains were still drawn, making it difficult to determine if daylight had indeed already come.
Three knocks on the door sounded, followed by a slight creak.
