The weirdest things in life usually happen in an instant.

It appeared before me one fine Saturday. Of course, for a twelfth-grade student like myself, Saturdays mean a whole day of doing homework, playing video games and wasting time.

When I finally noticed the dark-blue spherical thing floating in front of me, I instinctively let out an ugly scream. I swear to God, that was the most awful sound I'd ever made in my life.

I really don't want to think back to what happened afterwards: first my dear mother broke away from her historical TV dramas to ask what the hell just happened, then I realized that the thing which was floating just inches away from my chest not long ago had vanished without a trace. By the time she returned to the living room to binge on more TV, there it was again.

  It never went away.

  What a bother.
