The weather outside Athens airport was as it was told and even worse. The heat was unbearable and the sun was hot even though it was afternoon. He'd taken the job without having the luxury of thinking twice about it. It had a great deal of financial tight and it would be really ridiculous to reject such a good job even if it was sure that the weather would have a negative impact on its health.

The heat always brought her migraines and once she had gone a few days vacation in Spain her skin had made a horrible rash. Her dermatologist in Wales informed her that she was photosensitive and would be advised to avoid such excursions in the future. That was the second time he traveled to a Mediterranean country. He had bought well sunscreens and a straw wide-brimmed hat and hoped. He was really hoping.

It still had a long drive to its final destination. She had to somehow get to the bus station, and from there in two hours, she would have reached her destination. The person he had contacted about the job had suggested sending a vehicle to pick it up from the airport but she didn't want to. She preferred to travel alone. He was embarrassed by the light, frivolous conversations of parties and elevators.

She was dragging her suitcase to the curb and thinking about the events that led her here. She hadn't traveled much in her life and all this in her mind seemed like a huge adventure. A huge adventure starting from her village just outside Cornwall. There she had grown up and lived there when they contacted her from the employment office to tell her that they have a place she can cover if she passes a series of interviews and psychological tests. At first he was frightened. She studied pedagogy and child psychology and worked in a small private school as a teacher. He had never had to go through such an intensive process of selecting staff and even without knowing well what is going on. All he knew was that the remuneration package was astronomical and the position included relocation to a small town south of Athens. Just look at pictures on the internet and decide. The city was picturesque and the money was good. He definitely needed that amount. Her mother was young and she was still working, but her little brother needed a lot of money to study. Money they didn't have. She had a scholarship, but Nicholas didn't make it. And he was really smart. He'd do anything to study what he wanted and where he wanted to go.

"A ticket to Nafplio" he said at the counter when he arrived at the station. He was beginning to read the alphabet a little, and he thought he was pronouncing it right. The girl understood her immediately and smiled.

"Return?" he asked her. Chloe nodded negatively. It would take a while to get a permit. The position concerned the entire academic year and included one week holiday at Christmas, one week at Easter and two weeks in the summer.

He settled in a place near the window and thought to read something but he soon gave up. He couldn't concentrate. She had a lot on her mind. She left her little town and her family. She left her friends. What would he be facing in the new job? The person who conducted the interviews and the tests, only when he announced that he had taken the post, revealed to her that it is a place of internal pedagogy and English teacher in two children of 9 and 12 years of age. They lived with their father, and their English was gone with time because their English mother had died three years ago. He wondered if the children would have succeeded in overcoming the initial shock if they could continue their lives.

The buzzing melíssion that made her mind ready to explode came and interrupted a callous sleep. She leaned her head on the glass and when she reopened her eyes, she saw the cutest, most dreamy city she had ever seen.
