Caspian's P.O.V

As I wake up to my alarm clock, I check my phone and see that it's 7:00 a.m and that it's August 20th. My first day as a sophomore. I get up and grab a towel that I had laying out on my dresser and I walked to my bathroom. Before I got into the shower I connected my bluetooth speaker to my phone and put on some music. After that I jumped in the shower. As I was washing and rinsing my hair, one of my favorite songs came on; "Riptide by Vance Joy".
(Italics means he is singing)

"Oh lady, running down to the riptide, taken away to the dark side. I want to be your left hand man. I love you, when your singing that song and I gotta lump in my throat cause you're gonna sing the words wrong"

As I continued to sing I finished up washing and rinsing my body, then turned off the water and opened the curtain. I left my music playing while I grabbed my towel and wiped my face with the towel before putting it around my waist. I picked up my phone and turned off the music then I checked the time to see that is was 7:20 a.m. I walk out of the bathroom and walk into my bedroom to see my little sister, who is 9 years old on my bed playing her ukelele.

"Cas! Guess what I learned how to play!"

"What did you learn how to play Jess?"

"G on my ukelele!"*plays a G*

"That's great J, but I have to get ready or I'm going to be late. Go and help mom with breakfast and I'll be right down there. Love ya sis."

"Okay!" Jess runs out of my room and runs down stairs.

Well if you haven't caught on I love music. I've grown up in a musical family. Some other things about me is I go to a boarding school. Ever since people found out that I was gay when I was in 6th grade. My mom had us move in November of my 6th grade year because I was getting bullied a lot and got a few death threats. After that incident happend we moved to Sacramento, California. My mom didn't think it was safe to put me in a public school so she put me in a boarding school. I've gone to a boarding school since I was in 6th grade. After I finished 8th grade my mom decided to put me back into a public high school but I have to hide the fact that I'm gay but I don't see the point in that because basically everyone knows anyway. I am also known as the geek. I get straight A's and I do a guy's homework. And this guy is not just any guy. This guy is my crush. His name Derek Maxwell. He is a jock and I've had a crush on him since 6th grade. We don't really talk much but the only reason he knows me is because everyone knows I'm a geek and I offer to do his homework so I can at least talk to him. Derek plays Football and Basketball and is the captain on both of those teams and you guessed it, that makes him popular(a jock). Him and his buddies are the only people that don't know I'm gay. The funny things is all these girls hit on him but he doesn't care and he is single. How could a guy like him be single?

I check my phone and realize it's now 7:45 so I rush downstairs, grab a piece of toast and walk out the door. Luckily my best friend Tessa was waiting for me outside in her white porche.

"Hey boo."

"Just because I'm gay doesn't mean I talk like girls. And don't ever call me boo again."

"You do talk like girls thoughhhh."

"No I don't."

We both start laughing and Tessa drives  away from my house and starts driving to school.
