   Generations
To the generations before mine
Thanks for being the reason I won't have a future
Thanks for stuffing my senses with digital depression
Oh and thanks for patronizing me for it
To my generation
We have to be the ones to help our earth
But that is just a sentence
A way for people to rally with their words and not their actions
We have until 2030
Our time clock is ticking and there is still no way to stop the end of the world
Our hero has stayed in the comics that litter our landfills
Human extinction is a movie plot come to life
Generations before mine have lived peacefully with the knowledge of safety
That they won't have to be the ones to clean up the mess
Famine and war will mean nothing once the carbon dioxide fills our lungs
I mean
Not even planting trees can save us now
Our environment is something we learn about in 7th grade science
But why don't they mention the pollutants in succession
Lichens from rocks
Grass from lichens
Shrubs from grass
Insects and small animals
Small trees from shrubs
Tall trees from small trees
Big animals
Humans
Pillaging and pollution
Over hunting and excess breath
Just remember all the lessons taught and all the spoken word
when your last thoughts are
I Can't Breathe
