What A Life

Oh what a life it has been.

I smile as I run up to my dad.

He is my hero.

A new adventure he has went on voyaging the ocean.

He takes his funny hat off along with his heavy coat and greets me with a bear hug.

Oh how I missed him.

Oh, we get to go on a new adventure?

But where's momma?

"Don't worry about her" he said.

Oh what a life has it been.

Sisters always fight and argue.

"Thats my candy!"

"Its my turn ...!"

What silly things to bicker about.

But then again, we were only children.

Small things made so big and the bigger things made bigger.

Oh what a life it has been.

The kids are so mean to me.

What did I ever do to them?

I do my work.

I stay silent.

I speak when I am told.

I am a star student.

So why do they say all those mean things?

Oh what a life it has been.

Mom always lights one up when shes stressed.

Like mother like daughter.

Though mine is not the conventional ciggarette.

Such a funny smell.

I take a breath and I go into the clouds where I drown out my horrific days.

Oh what a life it has been.

Panic.

He did this to me.

How dare he?

He hurt me.

And he tried to do it again.

Not again.

Red and blue lights drown my teary eyed vision.

I am saved but not saved.

They doubt me.

They don't believe me.

Why?

How?

How could they?

Oh what a life it has been.

New life, new atmosphere.

A silence after the storm.

A flower blooms in the place of a tomb stone.

"Here lies so and so,

Oh what a life it has been."
