Prologue

   I was always told that I had a dry sense of humor but I could always rely on Jason to laugh at my jokes. Although I guess he had a dry sense of humor as well. Jason and I had been best friends since we were four. My mom had started working at his mother's office and they quickly hit it off so as a result Jason and I spent most weekends together. He's the only one I've told all my secrets to and I had a lot of them. My name is Clara Lopez, or at least it used to be, now it's Ricky Lopez.
First, it started with me realizing I was gay and then it was me realizing that everything felt wrong. Jason was the only one who actually understood me, at least for the first 12 to 13 years. I had always acted different but I didn't realize how different until I was 10 and helping my older sister get ready for prom.
She was so excited and couldn't stop talking about her date and how they were gonna dance the whole night. It was so much fun and when her date showed up and they started posing for pictures I couldn't stop thinking about how exciting it would be to go to my own prom. The moment her date put his arms around my sister I realized I didn't want some guy to put his arms around me, I wanted to put my arms around the most beautiful girl in the world.
  I'd say that was the beginning to my journey. The journey that led me all the way to why I'm telling this story in the first place. I was too scared to tell anyone except Jason about me being a lesbian and when it finally came out to the rest of the people in my life, well let's just say there's a reason this story is worth being told at all. I guess the next step in my journey was my junior year of high school.

Hey guys, this is my first story that I've actually decided to post to a site and I'm really excited about it. This is a story that I've been working on for awhile now. If you're reading this and want to continue thank you so much and I'll update every Sunday evening. The prologue is a little short but I wanted to just introduce Clara, future chapters will be longer than this.
