Once

Soft eyes
Shadows dance strongly in them
Your eyes are stunning
You stare unblinkingly at me
Lips once soft and smiling
Now cracked and pouting
I kiss them once more
Warm hands
That once warmed my hips
Once held me crying
Once healed my broken bones
Hold out to me stuff and cold
Fingers that once laced together with mine
Stretch out for me
Wanting me to be the last thing you held
Soft eyes
Shadows over take them
My eyes are bright still
I stare longingly at you
Lips that once kissed yours
Now painted with red
I smile softly
Warm hands
That once ran though your hair
Once held your face
Once traced your scars
Rest on the handle of a knife
Fingers that I laced together with yours
Press the numbers on a key pad
I cry my tears and raise panic in my voice
"He's dead"
They console me
Never to know what I've done
Never should have cheated on me
