Born July 9, 1964 in San Francisco, California as Courtney Michelle Harrison, Courtney Love is an American singer-songwriter-guitarist who is known as one of the lead women of the 1990's grunge music scene. She is most famous for being the frontwoman of the grunge rock band Hole which is known for hits such as "Violet", "Doll Parts", "Miss World" and "Celebrity Skin". Love is also famous for being the widow of Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain who was another famous grunge singer who is often times credited as "The King of Grunge", making Courtney "The Queen of Grunge". Love's lyrics tend to vary in emotion and message with songs full of anger and hate, others with sadness and pain and some with serenity and happiness so no matter what mood you are in there will probably always be a Hole song for you to relate to. Courtney Love also happens to be quite a controversial figure not just for her music but for her personal life too.
