°The one with
the failed surprise
party

              Lily Alvares was stressing out for she did not know what to give david for his birthday and his birthday is today so she was sprawled on the floor of her living room on her laptop, searching good gift ideas on the internet while also calling her sister for help on the phone.

"seriously, mary anne i'm freaking out what the fuck do i give david?" she whined to her older sister. She heard her sibling sigh "maybe something he still doesn't have?"

Lily almost banged her head against the wooden floor for how stupid the suggestion was "he's 21 year old millionaire, he lives in a two million dollar home and drives a fucking tesla. What do you think he doesn't have? i mean that's just so fucking stressful what the hell do i give someone who already has everything? i swear i-"

before she could even finish her sentence, her sister on the other line cut her off "just breathe, okay? I'm sure you'll come up with something in like.... the next 10 minutes" the older alvares tried to cheer up her sibling. Lily sighed for the tenth time and shut her laptop off "anyways, are you flying over here tomorrow?" she asked full of hope untik she heard her sister sigh on the other line and took a while to respond "im sorry lilian, i wish i could but you know how busy i can get ove here"

"yeah no i understand"

"you know i would if i could right? i would never miss your birthday lila" her sister consoled using her nickname for the younger alvares sibling.

"yeah yeah, look uhm i gotta go david's gonna come over in like 10 and i still have to get ready"

"i'll call you again later okay-"

"bye mary anne" lily hung up the phone feeling a little upset with her older sister, she has been missing her family for a while now and although she couldn't blame mary anne- for she really was a busy girl in florida. She couldn't help but feel more gloomy over her birthday. The alvares girl got ready after receiving a text from david saying that he was on his way to her apartment from the guy's house after filming something with josh for his birthday and the 'surprise' that josh had for david.

Speaking of surprises, lily couldn't help but laugh when she found out the their friends (and snapchat) were planning a surprise party for her and david- she appreciates it, although they weren't really the best type of people to plan a surprise party for how obvious it had been. Knowing that there would be a party— lily picked a fancier outfit that she would normally wear just to look good for the special day.

She sat in front of her dresser to start doing her make up when her eyes landed on the small picture of her and david taped to her mirror. It was the very first pic they took together after becoming friends so it was very special to lily— she continued to look at it when the perfect gift idea popped into her head.

She called one of her good friends, sarah- who's also a great painter and ask her if she could paint the picture of her and david on a canvas and when she said yes, the alvares girl was completely ecstatic— the painting would probably arrive in two days but that was fine for lily— her gift's late but at least it was special right?

Just as she got done fixing herself, she heard the doorbell of her apartment go
off— taking one last look of herself in her mirror, she straightened her outfit then made her way to the door. She opened it to reveal the dobrik boy in all his usual black outfit, texting something in his phone. When head heard the door open he went in without looking up from his phone "why do you lock your door?"
