who would've thought it would have come to this? you  sprawled out onto the floor while john confessed his true feelings.

"john?" you asked.

"y-yeah?" john questioned.

"will you do the honors of going out with me?" you asked, sitting up.

"i was supposed to ask you. not the other way around." john frowned.

"yeah well you were taking too long." you smiled. "so are you gonna say yes or are you rejecting me?"

john smiled, slid off the couch and onto the floor next to you.

"i'd love to go out with you, y/n." john smiled.

you smiled and kissed his cheek, making him blush.

"oh! that reminds me!" john said. "hold on!"

he got up from his spot on the floor and went upstairs. he was up there for a few minutes before he came down with a small black box.

he sat down in front of you and said, "i planned to give you this when i asked you out, but you beat me to it."

he opened the box to reveal the ring you and john had talked about.

"i had it cleaned and resized for you.." john smiled.

he gently grabbed your hand and placed the ring on your middle finger.

"john." you smiled. "i love it! thank you so, so, so much."

you leaned in and hugged him. you both stayed like that for a while before pulling away.

"seeing as it's late, i say we head to bed, and then in the morning we can go on a date." you smiled.

"a date?" john asked.

"yes, john." you smiled. "man, you're slow."
