It was a sunny day in Florida when we went to the beach.
My name is Alexa and I have, well HAD a pretty normal life. I had 2 sisters and a mother that were kinda assholes. My Dad was kind and gentle though and had just bought me ice cream. So when we came back from the beach I rode in my Dad's car and my siblings went with my mom in her car. We arrived at the hotel me and my Dad and went to our room. An hour later my Dad gets a call that would soon change my life. My Mom and siblings were dead. They had been hit off the road by a drunk driver.
"And now I'm here." I sighed, sitting on the bottom of the adoption centers old metal bunk bed
"Wait a second, so your dad is still alive? Why aren't you living with him then?" My Bunkmate Riley asked confused.
"After my family died, my Dad started drinking and doing drugs," I told her as I looked at my feet. "I didn't want to stay with him anyway because he got so mean after the accident happened."
"I'm so sorry Alexa!" She exclaimed as she hugged me.
"It's fine Riley, it's fine," I sighed again.
