Monarchs also know as the milkweed butterfly, can travel for 3000 miles. They are founded in North America, mostly in Mexico, Canada, and the USA. They have a life span of 2-6 weeks, leaving to Mexico for the fall and come back to either Canada or America in the spring. Once they have mated and layed an egg, they die and the new generation of Monarchs make the journey back just though instinct. When a Monarch is a Caterpillar it eats milkweed leaves and stays that way for 9 to 14 days. Finally a Monarch is also poisonous because of the Milkweed and will harm animals like Birds, Frogs, and lizards.
