Keira's backstory:
Keira grew up in LA. Her mother dies when she was 14 from cancer. Her dad then married Gianna Prentece. Gianna would lock Keira in her room for days with no food until one day Keira went psycho and burnt the house down. Keira saved her sister who was 10 at the time. She left Gianna to burn and die. Her father still doesn't forgive her but knows why she did it. He try's to help her and luckily for him she doesn't enjoy fire anymore. She also when she was 16 sent nudes to a boy who she had been speaking to for a while and he showed the whole school. This caused Keira to go into a state of depression. Keira was homeschooled but now has left school and is 18. Her sister Destiny is 14 but looks way older.
Colby's reason for babysitting:
Sam and Colby have decided to take a break from social media. His mom told him he either has to do some babysitting for his neighbors in the apartment next door or had to go to Kansas until everything is sorted (let's just say they were arrested again). He decided to help out Mr Govens. He knows that Destiny is 14 and has tutored her before. He sees Keira in the halls everyday and at the gym. He realises that she is different and wants to learn more about her. He knows about the fire incident because it was on the news when it first happened.
