Michelle tossed and turned on her bed, waiting and wondering. Curiosity filled the fourteen year old girl as she laid with her legs up on the headboard of her bed. She moved them side to side to the beat of the clock on her wall, while she contemplated all that has happened.

Recently on the news, a masked figure with powers like sticking on to walls and webbing people up, has been showing up around New York. Michelle could tell by the stature of the figure and the undeveloped voice, that the figure was a boy and no older than her. Maybe she was guessing, but she usually never turned up wrong with these kinds of things.

Her dad thinks of this "hero" as another menace, that's taken over yet another part of New York. Most specifically queens. But then again, her dad had been the chief of police in Queens, so it's no surprise of his dislike towards super powered people who keep stealing the spotlight from the police force. Although Michelle had a different opinion on the new hero. Or rather, she hardly had one. It wasn't her place to care for what new lab experiment the government's doing, as long as they keep the world safe.

But over the dinner table earlier, as her family was eating their food, her little brother had rushed through his plate and hurried from the dining room to the family room. The little boy quickly sat himself in front of the tv and turned it on to the news. Michelle out of curiosity, peeked to see what her brother had been rushing for.

A scream and people in shock could be heard from the television screen. The camera had been filming the news anchor lady who had been explaining the details of the incident. Apparently, the new villain who called himself "Sandman," had pushed somebody off the rooftop of a building. But just as the victim was falling Spider-Man swooped in from his web and saved the man, setting him on to the safe sidewalk near the building before pulling himself back up to stop the foe.

Michelle couldn't help but admire his heroism. In the few weeks the world has known Spider-Man, the hero never failed to impress. He would always swing into danger, and always made sure that people were safe. The crime rate has even lowered in Queens since his appearance. The one thing Michelle did find lacking about the hero was his outfit— he most certainly needed a super suit.

Michelle's dad had scoffed. "Pretentious," the man muttered, while his wife just ignored his actions and appreciated the hero's aid. Michelle looked back down at her food in wonder.

When the teenager made it back into her room, she decided to search up on Spider-Man through her laptop. She needed to act upon the curiosity still brimming in her bones. She had searched up any articles of his discovery and all that he's done. Tons of articles appeared and youtube videos along with them. She clicked on a random video.

This one had been talking about one of his recent events with a robbery in Central Bank. A guy clad in leather and a ski mask had speeded off in a bike with a sack full of money that he stole, many of the clips were filmed by different people but it still showed the same scene. Just as the biker thief was about to turn on the red light and make his escape, Spider-Man had landed in front of him and stopped the movement of the bike. Next thing you know, the hero had been praised as the thief was being detained by cops.

Michelle rolled her eyes at the show of glorification but admitted it was earned. She then scrolled down to the comment section to see the virtual reactions. Comment after comment, each had varied of its own opinion, but Michelle couldn't help but be shocked at the amount of negative comments that surpassed the good ones. People online had spouted "that's not impressive" or "great so iron man junior's come to save the day." Michelle could only wonder what the hero would feel as he read this, assuming he does go on the media.
