It starts with a normal walk home.

Miranda Hilkens has a two or three minute walk from the stop she is left at after getting off the school bus. On the way there is a gas station that she likes to visit, talk to her friends who work there, and get a snack.

Once she heard coughing and crying coming from behind the store. She was confused and decided to check it out. She walked to the back to find a little boy about her age sitting against the back wall with a cigarette in his hand and tears racing down his face. In interest she asked, "Who are you?"

The boy freaked out and stared at Miranda with fear. After catching his breath, he jumped on his feet and wiped the consistent tears from his face as he said, "I... Uh.... I'm sorry. I was just... Uh..."

"Don't worry, I won't tell anyone about this. Who are you and what are you doing here?", she asked.

"Brandon. And I was just..... Ummm...."

"Smoking?", she said bluntly.

"You wouldn't understand." In response she only sat near his original spot and said, "Then tell me."

He stared at her with big eyes, as if no one ever asked to willingly talk to him. And even though they just met, he felt as though he was safe with her. He sat down next to her and told her what happened to him and why he was there, at the back of the store.

But what did he say? Stay tuned to find out!
