"Mother, is it true that stars that fly through the sky give you whatever you wish for as long as you come and pick it up from where it landed?"

"Ara... Where did you hear that, my little prince?"

"Mother, I'm not little anymore..."

The boy pouted. That response was understandable because he's a mere half a decade old, dark blue hair resting on his head and innocent purple eyes looked up to his mother who is sitting by a chair near an opened window. His mother smiled at him and looked outside the window. The boy couldn't help but look as well.

"One of the maids told me about it. I tried looking it up in the library! But I failed..." The prince's shoulders dropped and looked down in disappointment.

"Oh no, my prince. That tale cannot be found in pages of a book," his mother chuckled and picked up the boy and made him sit on her lap. She couldn't help but stroke his hair as she stared at her son's face.  "Once every millenia, a star will shoot through the sky. Anyone who witnesses its journey above has the right to make a wish but for that to happen..." She sofly pinched the prince's chubby cheeks and smiled.

" ...You have to pursue that star and pick it up where it landed."

"T-Then that tale is true?!" Excitement filled the prince's face.

"Who knows? It was a story never written, but it's a tale that has to pass down to every generation of our family." The prince's face lit up even more to the point his eyes gleamed.

"When I grow up, I will become a good king then I will tell my children about it too!"

"Son, you're too little to think that way. Enjoy your childhood first," His mother--The Queen--laughed softly and caressed him in her arms.

"Okay... But a promise is a promise. I will show Mother when I become bigger and taller and stronger!"

"Hai, hai. Now tone down, Dice. You should sleep. It's already late. You will stop growing if you sleep late, remember?" She stood up and carried her son and put him on his bed. "Good night, my prince." She planted a kiss on his small forehead.

"Good night, Mother..." Little Dice smiled. He watched his mother leave his chambers. Before he closed his eyes, he looked outside the window to look at the starry sky again. He coudn't help but remember the tale he heard today.
