Race of a lifetime

Getting to Silverstone and waiting for the race,

And sit there knowing your team will be ace.

The engineers run out to see their work,

And drivers in their cars, their face dressed with a smirk.

2 green lights, the formation lap starts,

With all the drivers in their fans hearts.

Sebastian Vettel is on pole position,

He is truly Red Bull’s German magician.

Lining back up, the rivalry is intense,

The lights go out, let the battle commence!

Speeding off, round the corner they go,

Alonso crashes, just avoiding the Red Bull Renault.

Marussia-Cosworth is towards the back

And the Saubers are next on this race track!

Hamilton’s out, disappointment in his eyes,

‘But Maldonado’s to blame!’ the young Brit cries.

Button tries to overtake Vettel,

But, for second, he’ll have to settle.

Nico Rosberg goes into the pits,

And Schumacher’s tyre is again in bits.

Last lap, and across the line,

1st is Vettel, with his car so fine.

First in the championship, way to go!

He’s heading for his third title in a row.

On the podium, the national anthem plays

Those drivers never cease to amaze.

The race is finished, the teams pack away

For sure, nothing can ever beat this day!

The next race will be in Hockenheim,

Maybe the winner could be our German from Heppenheim.

The fans flock out, the day is done.

And, once again, all is quiet in Silverstone.
