at least, that's the mindset that she held up high despite the objections given by the other staff members.

it shouldn't have come as a surprise to them, she had always been quite the stubborn lady.

but tonight, it was that trait that lead her to stand behind the curtains with her fingers supposedly adjusting the pendant hung around her neck.

"anything but this, they just had to choose this as my punishment." her words were followed by curses that would have gotten her scolded by the white king, if she would have even cared to listen to him.

the percentage of it was simple, seeing as how he was the one who had implemented this 'consequence' after she lost a bet with their darling white rabbit.

there was no more time to fret over what has already occured as the sound of her male best friend's voice announcing a surprise signalled her time to get into position.

with one deep breath, she took her place on the chair, one ankle crossed over the other in what most would consider the proper posture of her class.

the curtains were drawn back, a single light shining down on her while her eyes were shut.

it was too late to back out now, she was going to finish this whole performance before anything else.

after all, the show must always go on.
