When Cora first heard the applause and acclamation of the Capitol she thought: dream... this is all a dream, and I have stupidly fallen asleep by the ocean's edge again. Then a featherweight touch returned her to the nightmare that was her reality, Finnick Odair was there to reel her back in to the fact that they'd arrived— death was near. In his eyes she was able to discern that he too must've felt as she did once before. It felt a lot like being lost at sea, in the middle of that parting crowd.
But it wasn't the sea.
It was an asylum with the doors blown wide open, where people had paid to see the inside.

author's note: y'all cora has gone through many changes, i couldn't list them all but she was one of my very first oc's and i love her so much and hopefully this will be the final version of her !! i'm so excited for y'all to live out her story, at long freaking last, enjoy :)
