Kiara Northglass P.O.V.

The car is running on the streets like a savage horse. Sure, the driver, our uncle Thomas, is not really good in driving long distances, specially when there are holes on the ground. It makes the car jump. And, me and my three siblings are in the car with him. Robert, the eldest, has 20 years old, and is sitting on the front, sleeping on the passenger's seat. My sister, Summer, is 18 years old, a senior in High School, is looking through the window, listening to music. I am 16, on the other window, eating some M&M's I got in my backpack and sharing with our younger brother, Michael, or Mickey, who is 8, that is kind of busy on taking pictures of everyone.

All of us for mom's blonde hair, but the brown eyes of our father, well, all of us except Summer, who has green eyes.

Somewhat, there are we, going on a weird trip to the unknown of or new house. I'm not really that excited for that. After what just happened? A week later is too soon to even get better.

Too soon...

Somehow, once the car parked in front of the biggest house I've ever seen. I almost dropped some M&M's, but, soon catching them, I took a deep breath, once hearing uncle Thomas start talking.

"The house is yours. Me and your father used to run away from this place too much... But I hope it can become like a home for you. Welcome." He muttered, taking a deep breath.

"Alright..." Robert opened the car door, looking back at us. "Mickey, you choose the rooms."

"Yes!" Mickey smiled widely.

"Yeah, whatever." Said Summer, clearly annoyed by Rob's decision on telling Mickey to choose the room. Somewhat, I was sure that Mickey's decision on the rooms would be a nice one, so, I didn't mind at all.

Uncle Thomas showed us the mansion, and once the tour ended, I came to Robert, taking a deep breath.

"You want to talk?' He asked.

"Please." I muttered.

Once getting out of the mansion, we went to the forest nearby the house. Yeah, nothing we were used to. Robert leaned against a tree, and looked at me, like saying 'go ahead and talk'. I took a deep breath, trying to not remember what happened but... That happened. It was hard not to remember. And harder not to regret every step we did.

"So... I think its too soon, but... I'm missing them. Every second. Every fucking second, Rob..." I was in the urge to cry, and he noticed that, pulling me in for a hug.

"I know... We all miss them, Kiki." He muttered, holding me close. "But we have to stay united. No matter what. Okay? No matter what."

"I'm just scared something might shatter us." I mumbled, soon, looking up at my brother.

"Never." He replied. "Now, let's go back. We have to see the others."

"Yeah, we do. Let's go, punching bag." I chuckled, teasingly, while we followed back to the house.

Once getting back in the house, uncle Thomas was reading the newspaper on the couch, while little Mickey was possibly looking for something around the house. I came upstairs to talk to Summer. Knocking on her door, I've heard her scream 'JUST A SECOND', before she opened the door, wrapped in a towel.

"Hey, Kiki. What's up?" She rose an eyebrow.

"May I come in?" I asked, offering a small smile.

"Sure, just let me put some clothes on." She closed the door.

While waiting, it was time to remember a bit of what happened...

Flashback.

"It's so beautiful!" Screamed mom from the living room. She was possibly seeing a drawing Mickey made to her, and then, he ran to the other room, where was trying to write something for school.

He came to me, proudly showing his drawing, and I simply smiled at him, closing my notebook. That essay could wait... Then, we'd play Seek Mickey. We invented this, we must wait my little brother Mickey hide and everyone, or whoever was playing, had to look for him. So, while I was counting until 10, he hid somewhere.

After counting, I started looking for him, stopped to check on my mother and my father, working on a new 'masterpiece', a painting of the sea, and a boat. Then, I came to the kitchen, still looking for Mickey. Once, hearing that someone came in the living room, I noticed the nervous tone on the voice of the person.

So, I decided to come under the table, soon, finding Mickey.

"You found me!" He exclaimed.

"Shh, I think it's a weird situation out there." I whispered, and then, started people screaming.

The boy who was there was screaming something about pieces. And, then, my father screamed for him to put the gun down... Then a shot. I put my hand on Mickey's mouth, trying to keep him from screaming, and pulled him closer.

Another shot. And another one. Then, he came towards the kitchen. We were under the table, and the towel covering was too big to cover until the ground, happily.

"Kiara... I know you're here..."

But, then, someone hit him on the head, making him fall besides the table, and I closed my eyes, not wanting to see. Robert pulled the towel up and took Mickey, giving him to Summer, then, pulled me out of there. I was holding my breath still, and once Robert hugged me, I took a deep inhale, and started crying.

To pass by that scene, coming towards the front of the house... The blood spreaded through the ground, sprinkled in the walls, the red of the room. My father and my mother were shot in the head, and my mother even got two shots.

I started crying, panicking uncontrollably. Until the police arrived and took the boy who did that. It was Summer's ex-boyfriend, they had broken up a while back...

And maybe, because of that, or because of some weird pieces, he killed our parents. What a great way to make the year of someone...
