when maggie lee met jeffrey dean morgan, she couldn't care less. she remembers rolling her eyes when he walked through the door, thinking he was just another one of her mother's flings. he'd hang out for a bit and then one day just disappear when her mother grew tired of him. to her surprise, eight months later, he moved in after he and her mother announced they would soon stand on an altar and say 'i do'. maggie would be lying if she said she enjoyed his presence, but it all changed when he stepped up and defended her against her emotionally and mentally abusive mother. maggie slowly started to grow fond of him, and they began to spend more and more time together. she longed for someone to finally be on her side, understand the pain she went through, show her empathy. for someone who didn't view her as a good-for-nothing, selfish, incompetent little girl, who her mother very much liked to refer to her as very often. maggie knows her mother is the cause of her hatred for life. she's the reason maggie wakes up every morning, feeling frustrated and helpless, wishing she'd have died in her sleep. maggie knows it's only a matter of time before she finally snaps, and that time couldn't come much sooner. when her mother reaches the final straw, maggie decides that enough is enough. it's time for her to finally get a taste of her own medicine. it's time for her to finally feel the way she makes her own daughter feel; helpless, humiliated, worthless. the reckless girl grows frantic, letting the hate bubbling inside get the best of her as she desperately looks for the perfect pawn to use against her mother. until she finally realizes what might be the answer to her problem was sleeping in the room next to hers the entire time; her future step-father.
