The grenade exploded, and all the breath left in my body exited from my lungs. My cross bow flung from my leather gloved hands as I went flying back. My back hit the hard concrete of the roof, and I widened my eyes at the sky.

"XAVIER!" I heard a voice scream. I tried to look around, but everything was blurry. My head hurt, and so did my chest. Vince ran towards me and shook my shoulders. His voice was muffled, and there was a loud ringing in my ears.

I tried to sit up, and soon I succeeded. From a building opposite from the one me and Vince were on, an Iranian man aimed his semi-automatic at Vince. I leaped towards my bow.

One more arrow.

I pulled back the arrow and aimed as fast as I could.

Putting my index finger on the trigger, I put a small amount of pressure on the trigger. The man fired at the same time I did. The arrow slipped from the grasp of my bow, and the man's bullet flew from its tight embrace. Not thinking twice or risking losing my brother in case my arrow didn't hit the man in time, I jumped in front of Vince.

All I remember hearing was a sickening sound of ammo ripping through flesh.

"Xavier. X, wake up!" I heard a familiar voice shake me awake.
