Elio is bisexual and a switch.
He can be quite possessive over his lovers in public and can seem rude but he's actually a sweetheart with a good sense of humor.

Back story:

One rainy night Elio and his sister was walking home from a friend's birthday party.  A man came up to them saying he was hurt and of course they tried to help but the man was faking it. They were mugged and held at gun point. Elio's sister tried to make a run for it but unfortunately the man shot and killed her then ran off with their phones and the rest of their belongings.

After the incident his mother was barely home. She was always out drinking or doing illegal things. It seemed like his father was the only sane person left in the family.. until the divorce but that's over now and his father is very happy with his new partner.

Elio has slight PTSD and doesn't like being outside after dark, but he's slowly getting better. Every now and then he sits on his porch and watches the sunset with an army knife in his hand.

You're not supposed to know until he tells you about it. If he decides to tell you then you've gained his trust.
