ch 1, her life

Rachel was the perfect girl, her parents are very wealthy and could do anything they wanted to, they made lots of money and of course had to take care of their daughter, Rachel Gardner

However as perfect as this picture perfect family was, the truth was there was indeed a problem

Their daughter Rachel, didn't feel anything

They couldn't figure out what was wrong with her and hated it, they tried everything they could, medication, therapy, etc, absolutely nothing worked and she always had a blank expression on her face

She followed rules and never questioned it, she always behaved and never had anything to say

They're daughter didn't feel, and they soon became desperate,

They're daughter couldn't feel, and she excepted that,

Absolutely nothing made her feel anything,

The only thing that stood out to her then anything else was..

Her books,

We're the only thing that made her have something,

And in fact a very specific kind of book,

Romance stories,

Any kind of one, mystery romance, romantic, sci fi, horror, slice of life, comedy, sad romance,

It all,

She was completely fascinated with the thought of love,

The thought of how two people could have such a connection with each other,

And devote body and soul for one another even after death,

Completely took her mind,

"Honey can you come down for a moment! " Her mother called out

Rachel got up from her bed and walked out going down the stairs to the kitchen where they both were,

"Honey dear?" Her mother asks with a crack of desperation

"Yes? " Rachel asked coldy

"What do you want for dinner? " Her mother asks squeezing a towel in her grip

"Whatever you make" Rachel replies in a blank tone and gaze

Her mother grabs a cup in the sink and slams it across the room breaking it

"Damnit why won't you decide!?! Why can't you ever make a decision?! Just pick damnit, feel something anything!!! " Her mother shrieks in anger and cries out

"Now now Rachel, just pick something anything? " Her father asks her

Rachel looks up at him with the same gaze

"Anything you will make" She replies again coldy

He walks back in an angry filled expression

"Why are you like this why?! What did we do wrong?!! " He shouts and falls to his knees in anger

She stares at them both,

"When it is done call me down" She replies walking over them heading back to her room

Her mother grabs her by the arm and pulls her forcing her at a stop

"Rachel dear? " Her mother asks in a pain filled tone

Rachel looks up blankly

"Do you love me? " Her mother asks

"I do not understand the question" Rachel replies

Her mother let's go in a pained anger

Rachel turns around and starts walking upstairs

"What the hell did I do to deserve this! This is all your fault damnit!!! " Her mother shouted at her husband

"My fault?! How is this my fault?! " He shouts back at her

"If you hadn't cheated on your girlfriend that night when she wasn't home none of this would have happened!!!! " She shouted at him

Rachel walked up the stairs and into her room as the arguing continued

She closed the door and went back to her bed,

"Now to continue"

She read a her book in the bliss of the story and could no longer hear anything outside

She read a story of a prince who fell in love with a maiden, the story went that this prince was to have a ball for his 18th birthday and was to find himself a beautiful princess to marry, at the ball there was a maiden of no Royal blood and wasn't allowed to attend in a dress, so she ripped it up and went in, she did it for the sake of the night, she wanted to go and nothing was going to stop her and so she did and she took his breath away, something about the way she was the way she spoke and had a gaze of fire, he right then and there knew she was the one, and one look at him and she knew that he was her one,they loved each other more then anything and secretly met up at night to be together, they were so in love and no princess could ever compare to her, no other man could capture her heart the way the prince had and she only ever could love him, eventually the town talked and the king banned his son from seeing this so called girl and ordered him to marry Royal, that night the prince snuck out a finale time and met up with her and they left the kingdom, with only their love as luggage...

Rachel was enchanted at the story,

Unable to think of any reason to risk it all, give it all up, and she was left at the edge of her seat,

Before she knew it, dinner time had come and she walked down those cold stairs again,

Sat down at the silent table and ate what was prepared

Thanked them for the meal,

"Thank you for the meal" Stood up and walked back upstairs

A silent sigh of anger could be heard from the table she walked away from

"Now then" She walked into her room and had watched as the maid fixed her bed

At that the maid left,

"It's already this late" She comments to herself blankly

She finishes her book and turns off the light,

She stares at the large window, and the dark night sky with the beautiful moonlight shining perfectly into her bedroom,

The curtsains blowing and beautiful white carpet shined bright,

She then crawled into bed and slowly began to close her eyes

When fell asleep soundly and quietly

Like always,

But all of a sudden she had a dream,

A dream there was a boy, and he appeared in her dream and offered to take her some where far away from the life she had, and he would be by her side,

The boy seemed wounded as his body was covered in bandages and he seemed to be hurt

She cried and took his hand and all of a sudden she was awaken by a sound,

She opened her eyes in wonder about the dream she had but couldn't remember his face,

Then she turned around to face the bow open window,

Blood dripped from the window and a figure sat crouched there,

She stared wide eyed

"Who are you? "
