Authors Note: Hello peeps! Daggers and Arrows is a collab story I wrote with @Annabeththeravenclaw. This may not be perfect for I am horrible at grammar and spelling. We tried our best writing this story. Rylee is based on me and Gabby is based on Maria. Maddie is based on another one of our friends. The world and characters belong to Rick Riordan. This was written for fun not to be marketed as my own. Please enjoy!

It was just another day at William James Middle School, me and my best friend Gabby, that was almost like a sister, we're heading to the school's library with Maddie, our other friend, and checking out a new book that just came out. Me, Gabby, and Maddie were serious bookworms, even though Gabby always read faster than us.

We walked in and saw Mrs. Allen, our school's librarian, putting books back on shelves. We waved hello and then immediately headed to the fantasy section. Soon after we checked about the book Maddie made a strange face and a loud BOOM was heard. We peeked out the library doors and saw that the front doors had exploded. Emerging from the smoke were 3 ladies with... snake legs?

They slithered into the front office and yelled

"Where are the Demigods?"

"Demigod? What on earth is a demigod?"I said as Maddie looked at us with fear and pulled us toward the other exit.

"Wait, a demigod? I think I've read about that somewhere!" Gabby said.

"Of course you did," Maddie replied. "You've read every book in the library!"

As we were running and talking I noticed something sticking off Maddie's head like I don't know what it was. But is it me or do they look like horns? That's impossible I thought?

"What are those snake- lady- thing- whatevers?" Gabby said.

"I don't know what they are," I replied.

We were running through the parking lot when we noticed the 3 snake ladies emerge through the doors.

"THERE," one of the snake ladies screamed pointing at them.

"Us? Thereafter us?" I said.

"Apparently so," Gabby replied. Maddie looked sheepish, or like she knew something we didn't.

"Maddie? What's happening?" I demanded, "Explain!"

"Can we get out of here?" Gabby pleaded, "I really don't want to be snake lady food!"

"She's right," Maddie stated.

"You're hiding something!" I said

"I'll explain later!" Maddie yelled over the sound of the snake women.

"Can we just get out of here now?" Gabby screamed in reply.

We ran as fast as we could. And almost made it to Gabby's house when the snake ladies cornered us. Maddie reached into her satchel and brought out 2 strange, bronze-looking knives, along with a bronze ax.

"Take these! You will need them!" Maddie yelled. She charged at one of the snake women and hit it straight in the chest dissolving the women into dust.

Gabby took her knife and hit another in the shoulder. But, this snake lady didn't dissolve. Gabby tripped and skinned her elbow. She got up and fought, getting cut several times before cutting off the lady's head.

Meanwhile, I ran towards the largest and final snake women. I was attempting to hit right in the middle of the forehead but, she dogged. When I felt and scraped my knee. Maddie rushed over and picked me up coaching me though killing the monster. After many tries, I eventually vanquished the beast by hitting it in the middle of her back. I was surprised I even killed the beast, but I did.

When we gathered up again, Gabby locked eyes with Maddie.

"Explain," she demanded.

"Well, the two of you are demigods, and those were dracaena. They were trying to have a little demigod snack if you know what I mean. I can explain more later, but first, we need to get to a safe place for demigods. It's a camp. Who're parents would be willing to drive us to Long Island?" Maddie spilled out.

"Well, I want to talk to my dad before we go anywhere," I admitted. "I don't get why he wouldn't tell me this. My dad never keeps secrets. He said my mom and him got divorced when I was two! Liar!"

"I'd have to ask my dad and stepmom before I go anywhere, so I could ask my dad for a ride," Gabby stated calmly, a look of fear evident in her eyes.

"Well, we are next to Gabby's house" Maddie suggested "So we could ask her dad for a ride, then stop by your house to pick up your things. But, there are plenty of back up supplies at the camp."

"What are the chances the snake people come back? We are going to die?" I screamed in fear. "Where is this camp?"

Maddie looked stressed. Like she had just been assigned a 10-page essay due tomorrow.

"The camp is on the Long Island Sound." She tried to say calmly.

"That will take days by car to get there!" I yelled, "What are we going to do?" I started to cry. I knew I probably looked pathetic, but Gabby and Maddie gave me a hug.

"It's going to be okay," Maddie tried to drill in her head "It's going to be okay."

I didn't feel too sure about us being okay and making it to Long Island alive. I was just trying to think, if we are demigods then what type of gods or goddesses are our parents? I personally never really believed anything about gods. My family didn't go to church or anything. Maybe this is why. But, that didn't explain why Maddie had horns.

"So, Maddie are you a demigod?" I asked.

"I'm a satyr," She said confidently.

"Satyrs? I think I've read about those. Half-human half-goat, right?" Gabby said in a proud manner.

"Yep. You're right. I'm a half-goat. Okay? Now let's get you guys to Long Island. We have a long drive ahead of us."

We walked to Gabby's house, which was only a few blocks away. Gabby took out her house key and opened the door.
