*this is inspired by the comic called Chara's Origins so no this isn't my original idea*
Chara wouldn't stop breathing heavily and panicking in their sleep. Their father was abusive and didn't care what Chara thought. He didn't care what Chara felt. They had no power here.
"Get up Chara and go to school. There's also a test today and you know it. You mustn't fail it. Now go back your bag and go." said Chara's dad, Bruno.
Chara's mother, Amanda, was sitting at a table eating her breakfast. She was wearing overalls with a pretty black and white striped shirt. Bruno was wearing business clothing as he sipped his coffee and headed out the door without saying goodbye. Chara toasted some bread and spread butter and strawberry jam on it and ate away. Amanda gave them a sweet smile and pat their head.
"Good luck on your test today. And don't panic. I know you studied hard." Amanda said while preparing Chara's lunch. She usually packed a cheese and ham sandwich with grapes. It was their favorite.
"Yeah but father said I mustn't fail it." Chara said with rising panic in their voice. "So I shall do as he says." Amanda then frowned and turned around, putting the food in their paper bag and handing it over.
"Don't listen to him. He wants you to be successful dear child. Now go on ahead and have a nice day." Then, Chara headed out the door and walked to their school. They then got cornered by their bullies.
"Oh Chara the no-gender. What do you think you're doing here? We're trying to have a private conversation. Are you blind? Are you asking for a death wish? Are you-" then, they got interrupted by Mr. Roberts, their teacher.
"Shame on you for tormenting them. You better stop and say sorry or face a week of detention."
"Sorry Chara." said one of their bullies, Samantha.
"Yeah sorry." said another one of them, Emma.
"Good. Now you better be heading to class." then, Mr. Roberts turned to face Chara. Even though they were saved by their bullies, they still seemed upset. Mr. Roberts' eyes shifted into a worried expression and he put his hand on Chara's shoulder.
"Home life harsh again? Don't worry the test isn't that hard." said Mr. Roberts with a kind tone. He was almost like their therapist. "By the way, have you even studied?" asked Mr. Roberts.
Chara shook their head no. This wasn't the truth and all they'd been doing was panicking and crying. Studying didn't do them any good.
Meanwhile, Chara was in their math class, slightly but barely prepared for their test. Mr. Roberts handed out the papers and once they saw what was on the test, they were ready to start panicking. Chara had to spend their time in the counselor's office because of how stressed they were and learned nothing from school. Bruno didn't know that but Amanda did.
Chara started their test and skipped a lot of questions in frustration. Once the test was over, Chara was sure they wouldn't pass. They headed over to history where they were working on a project.
Once last period rolled around, there was math again. This means everyone was going to get their tests back. Chara fiddled around with their pencil and wouldn't stop sweating.
Mr. Roberts handed back the tests and of course, Chara had failed. They shoved the test back into their bag and headed out the door straight home. Amanda gave them a hug and told them to sit down because she prepared food. It was meatloaf again. Then, the door burst open and in came their dad. He was holding a piece of paper and looked furious. It was a paper in which it stated they forgot to pay their bills and had to leave the home. Bruno already had a lot of money to the point where he could afford himself and the family a new home.
"It's okay Bruno. Besides, weren't we saving up enough money to get ourselves a bigger and new home?" Amanda asked with a little worry in her voice. Bruno then crumbled up the paper and said he'd pack his bags. Amanda asked whether or not they were going to move somewhere else and live with him in his new home. Bruno just packed his bags and left.
That meant Chara and Amanda were going to be left on the streets to die. This meant none of their sleazy neighbors would help them. They were going to die. Alone.
