ESTHER CASTILLO'S LIFE IS COMPLICATED ENOUGH.
for starters, she's a demigod: the half human, half god child of some ancient greek diety. sounds fun enough, until you realize there's always some monster out to get you and most demigods don't make it to adulthood. great! (and let's not even get started on the parental issues.)
and to add to her problems? she has a kinda, scratch that, definitely major secret. even better! but, it hasn't ruined her life so far, so how bad could it be? all things considered, esther's doing pretty good!
but when a mysterious boy shows up on a school field trip, things get just a bit more complicated. now she's being sent on a quest that may as well have had " WARNING! make one wrong move and you'll sign the world's death warrant. no pressure! good luck!" written on the invite.
( what she doesn't realize is that her secret & this quest should be the least of her worries; a great war is coming, one unlike she's ever seen before. and along with it, will come a new family, mystery, heartbreak, death, and more than just her secret coming to light. )
