▹ A sense of normality

"Charles and Rinnie are meeting up in fifteen minutes, they both have things to finish up with their groups," George explained before locking his phone and shoving it into his pocket.

He sat down on the swing beside Chaehyun, who was giggling like a 5 year old as he got higher and higher. George could only chuckle at his childishness as he adjusted his mask and threw his hood up over his head. Chaehyun had gone disguise free, however, George's manager refused to let him leave without wearing one.

It had been a while since it was just him and Chae. Outside of their respective groups, they would both consider each other as best friends and of course, Charlie and Chaeri were also considered with the same label too, but these two had a different bond — they were brothers for life.

"If you go any higher you're gonna-" George's sentence was interrupted by Chaehyun flying off the swing causing him to close his eyes with a deep sigh. "Fly off."

George shook his head in amusement and pushed himself off the swing, making his way towards Chaehyun who was laying on the ground refusing to get up. George pulled down his mask and leaned over him.

"You good?"

"Wow, I must be in heaven because boy you're an angel," Chaehyun winked causing George to start laughing.

"Fucking idiot." George pulled him up off the ground and roughly ruffled his hair to get out the dirt and stones. "I swear, you're like my kid sometimes."

"Does that mean I can call you dadd-"

"LUCAS!" George screamed loudly despite the tall male being nowhere in sight. Chaehyun burst out laughing and pushed George back playfully before running off to the slide.

Still chuckling to himself, George followed after him and climbed up onto the swing behind Chaehyun. Putting his hands in his pockets, George lifted one leg up and stumbled slightly before pushing Chaehyun down the slide.

A loud girly scream left the younger male as he was yeeted down the slide, earning a loud laugh from George. Chaehyun stuck up the middle finger and fell back on the floor with a huff. George sat down and scooted to the edge before letting himself slide down.

"OW MY ARSE!" He screamed loudly, jumping up and pressing his hands against his bum before turning around to glare at the slide as if it had just insulted his entire family. "Stupid fucking slide."

"Breaking! George Lee seen cursing at a children's slide for hurting his arse," Chaehyun joked through his giggles, still laying on the floor.

He was actually rather comfortable.

It was then when he heard the whispering. Twisting his head to the left he saw a group of teenagers staring and whispering. He furrowed his eyebrows and turned back to George who was pulling down his mask earning several gasps from the group.

"There's a group over there staring at us and I'm feeling mildly intimidated," Chaehyun told him.

George looked over at them. "Chae, they're teenagers. What harm are they gonna d-wait they just stood up and they look tall, I am now afraid."

"I'm 6'0, I'll protect you," Chaehyun winked.

"My hero," George joked plainly before he began panicking again. "Why the fuck are they staring at us? Do I have something on my face? Oh my god, are they gonna mug us?"

Chaehyun shook his head and stood up. "Let's just go back over to the swings, they're probably just enchanted by my gorgeous ass face."

George made a face of distaste. "You sound like my Jin."

The two made their way over to the swings and as subtly as possible, the group followed. George glanced back at them and silently cursed when he saw them acting casual as they headed in the same direction.

Man up, George. They're just teenagers. They aren't gonna hurt you plus Chaehyun is good at arguing. They'll go away soon.

He sat down on the swing and shoved his hands into his pocket. It was then when two familiar faces headed over to them completely unfazed by the several gasps that came from the group when they were spotted.

Chaeri grabbed onto Charlie's hand and dragged him in the direction of the two worried males, excitedly she began skipping whilst Charlie allowed her to pull him along with a soft smile on his face at her cuteness.

"Georgie! Chaechae!" Her excitement drained when she saw the looks on their faces. "What's wrong?"

George bit his lip. "There's a group of teenagers watching us and I feel kinda intimated because I have had a past with these kind of situations and I am scarred for life."

Chaeri glanced towards the group before letting out a small laugh, she opened her arms and George stepped into her embrace, needing a little bit of comfort due to the current anxiousness eating away at him.

"Georgie, they're literally fans. They recognise you that's why they're following," she explained to him, rubbing his back in attempt to calm him down.

He lifted his head off her shoulder and raised an eyebrow. "Oh wait shit I'm apart of BTS."

She nodded her head with an amused smile before nodding to Chaehyun who was also realizing that he was a member of NCT. Spending time alone had really made them feel...normal again.

George laughed out of relief whilst Chaehyun wrapped an arm around Charlie, a bright smile on his face.

"Now that you're not longer afraid, let's go down the slide!" Chaeri cheered.

"Oh hell no, I just went down that thing and it hurt like a mother butt cheek on a stick."

Chaeri shrugged her shoulders, remaining unbothered as she headed towards the slide, respectfully bowing towards the teenagers with a kind smile. The boys followed her and somehow it ended with Chaeri on Chaehyun's lap as they slid down together and George on Charlie's.

George loves being an idol, but sometimes, a day at the park is all he needs to feel normal for once.
