staring

staring at the ceiling

something i tend to do when i'm trying to think

in this case, i was trying to figure out what to do with my life

if i was not married, i was to be sent to the church, in which i would become a nun

on the contrary, if i was married, the boy must have money

a royal

all in which i was known for

i had nothing more to my name, than being apart of this family in which people worshiped, and of course

hated

sitting up now, i wondered

looking back towards my palm to see the small pink dot

i often forgot it was there,

but on days like these,

it stood out the most.

rubbing it, i allowed myself to sink further into my bed, my hair becoming a mess

my dot
it indicates whether i have met my soul mate yet,

it lights up if i am in fact near my beloved soul mate

or,

in my case,

it stays pink

the days are narrowing towards my 17th birthday

my father isn't the happiest on my relationship status

in his words;

"any daughter of mine must be finding a soul mate, i will not hesitate to send you to the nunnery Lane"

oh yes

my name

Lane Ophelia II

and no, not the be confused with the road, my name is Lane and im not sure why

but the show must go on

꧁꧂

winter has struck and im caught in a ruckus

the snow, harsh, as i try and walk home

i was out collecting letters for my father

my brother Darius sent me because i'm apparently always being "lazy"

"let me help you with that" a girl says as she sees me ruffling snow out of my hair

"oh no, i don't want to be a bother-" i said as the girl cut me off

"it would be my honour princess" she said as my smile faded

princess

that's all i was, a stupid spoiled  princess

"please, call me Lane" i said as she grabbed my hat and put if back on my head, just as i picked up the letter that fell

"thankyou so very much" i exclaimed as she nodded her head and smiled

"do you maybe want to come over? i dont really have any friends and im getting quite lonely miss..." i said trailing off, realising i never learnt the  young girls name

"Stella Coco Van Dijk, and i will most definitely come!" she said as we both laughed

"-and then, we sat in her room, which by the way, is HUGE, and then we talked and laughed, it was so amazing!"

"yes coco, we get it, you are friends with royalty" i said trying to shut her up

"ruel, this is big for your sister, now let her have her moment" my mum said as she put the dinner on the table

"is she stuck up?" i asked

"no ruel, she is lovely, you would love to meet her, oh and she's your age, you were get along perfectly!"

"im perfectly fine with my current friends coco, who aren't royalty, they're normal" i snickered

"lane is normal ruel! stop being so rude" coco said ending to conversation as my dad came and sat at the table, a sign for us to start eating
