▹ The newest addition

"Can someone please explain to me, why the hell I am being told to come home and meet George's baby?" Seokjin's panicked voice thundered as he slammed the door to the dorm open. "What baby? Have you been hiding a pregnancy for 9 mon-oh my god, is that why you said you couldn't be with Hwasa? You knew you got a girl pregnant didn't you and didn't want to tell us."

Jin was the definition of stressed out as he put two and two together inside of his brain. None of this made sense to him, but at the same time, it also made perfect sense and that added to his confusion. What didn't help anything was the fact that all seven males - including the culprit - were all calm.

George chuckled lowly, but there was a happy glow on his face that made Jin want to pass out. How the hell was he supposed to look after George and now a baby on top of that? They would figure it out, that comforted him but he was in too much shock to think rationally.

Standing up, George cradled the supposed baby wrapped in a blanket and stepped closer to the eldest of the eight, who looked like he was on the verge of throwing up from pure stress. Though as shocked as Jin was, he couldn't say he was too surprised that George had been the first one to give him a nephew. He might not be the luckiest in love, but it just seemed like a George thing to happen - plus he's best friends with Lachlan Kim and it's still a surprise to everyone that he hasn't ended up with a kid yet.

"Hyung, I would like you to meet Pluto," George spoke softly and revealed the resting Cavapoo puppy in his arms. "This is my baby."

Jin didn't know whether to cry at the stress or the fact that the puppy looked so content with his member. Relief washed over his body and he held his heart whilst taking deep breaths in hopes of calming his racing heart. There were many questions he had but right now, he needed to bask in the relief.

Jungkook snorted. "Pluto, of course, he'd name it after a Disney character."

"Oh wait! That's right! Pluto is in Mickey Mouse, I thought he had named it after the planet," Taehyung realized.

"Was this an impulse decision?" Jin questioned, sternness mixed in with his tone.

Much to everybody's surprise, George shook his head confidently. If they were being honest, they had all assumed that this was another one of George's impulsive decisions. They had never really had him as the type for planning things like this out and the fact that he hadn't mentioned it to them added to the evidence of him impulsively adopting a puppy.

"I mentioned wanting a dog to my dad like 5 months ago but was hesitant because I can't always be here to take care of one and over the last few months, I've been planning it with both of my parents. They have offered to have him when I can't be around and permanently if you guys don't want a dog in the dorm."

"I mean, we don't mind but we also don't understand why you didn't tell us," Namjoon chimed in, eyebrows furrowed.

George hadn't mentioned wanting to get a dog to them at all. They were 100% supportive of his decision, but couldn't help but think that maybe he hadn't mentioned it to them for a specific reason.

"Yeah, you usually ask for our input on everything. Why didn't you ask for it on this? We could've helped you," Hoseok told him with a frown.

George sighed, he knew this was coming and he didn't blame them for being intrigued on the reason why he didn't mention it to them at all. Whilst planning it, he definitely felt guilty about not letting them help and that guilt only increased in size as they all looked a little upset with him for not including them in this.

"I didn't think any of you would trust me. I see comments all the time about how it's hard to believe that I'm a part of the Hyung line because I'm childish or an idiot and for once, I really wanted to prove that I could be trusted with something like this. I just wanted to do something without being reminded of the fact that I'm immature..."

Now it was the boys turn to feel guilty, he hadn't blamed them and he never would but they still felt bad for not knowing how he had been feeling. Nobody said anything until Jungkook stood up and threw an arm around his shoulder, pulling him in closer.

"We know you can be mature. You've practically helped raise me into the man I am today! I've always looked up to you and if anyone can raise a dog, it's definitely you," The Maknae assured him gently whilst running his hands through Pluto's fur.

"Yeah, you're gonna be an amazing doggy parent! I've seen you with Yeontan and you're amazing, we wouldn't ever put you down," Hoseok added in, patting his back.

George cracked a smile. "You guys really mean that?"

"Of course, we adore you George and we might tease you sometimes but we would never underestimate you. Pluto is in amazing hands," Namjoon finished off with a proud smile.

That was all George needed to hear to feel better. An excited glint reappeared in his eyes as he glanced down at his puppy, who was now awake and looking around in wonder. Placing him down on the floor to explore, Pluto ran in between his legs feeling a little shy but as George began walking, he gained confidence and began running to his uncles though, after a while, he would always run back to George.

"He loves you so much already," Taehyung commented lowly with a fond smile.

George grinned and kneeled down to play with his puppy, who had jumped up on his leg to gain his attention. Happily, Pluto licked his face earning a loud laugh from George, eyes filled with adoration as he lifted him up into his arms and snuggled his nose against the side of Pluto's face, pressing several tiny kisses there.

"Welcome to the family, Pluto."
