Prologue

Gone were the days of good queens and good kings. Long gone, long gone.

Werewolves rose up a long time ago and or a moment, it was good. The King was a good one, the queen one who knew the hearts of humans. And they taught their children to be the mirror reflections of themselves.

And their children and so forth.

But then one good king died. Assassinated. By a human no less. And his son decided that his goodness was what got him killed.

So on that day the good prince became the Alpha of Alphas and dropped the good from his title. Instead, he became the Iron King, the one dare go against. And in this gauntlet grip he held every human. And so his son learned to rule that way. And his son after him, his son. And human hope died, choked by the iron fist of the kings they labored under.

Until under the grim, grey sky, another prince was born. Another iron prince. No one doubted this fact. And he grew like a tree, strong and sturdy, head inching towards the crowing. But those inches became miles when his father died.

Assassinated.

By a human no less.

And it was as if time was repeating itself.

The fist would only grow stronger--until perhaps, there would be no more humans.

But this time was different. As if the moon goddess had realized a mistake, opened the page, and began to redraft the novel.

This time, there was a girl.

A human girl, not an angel, not a savior, and not a saint. But if she was pushed to the point of breaking, what would she do next?

Would she touch an Iron King's soul? Maybe reverse a curse of a hundred years?

Or would she shatter the world? Maybe she'd be just like her Iron King. Maybe she'd be worse.

A goddess could only wonder.

Author's Note

Before finishing Imani's story, I thought of what the world of wolves looked like before her and after her. I decided to write another story about a time far after her; a time where her gains have been eroded. I think you'll see what I mean as we get into this story. I haven't written it completely just yet,  but I know I want to write a girl on a power trip, whatever that means to you.

For those of you planning to read, thank you. Let's begin this new journey together. :)

XOXO
