Chapter 06

Chapter 06: Woman 

"Here we are," Desmond cheered, and it made my forehead creased. I did see the big Enchanted Kingdom that we talked about a while ago, but it looks scary even though I'm not yet inside of it.

I bit my lower lip and closed my fist as I heard the screams and saw the people coming inside. I hate crowded places, and I don't know if I can enjoy Desmond's plan.

Hapon na kami nakarating dito sa Laguna at saglitan lang ang tulog ko dahil mabilis lang naman pala ang biyahe papunta dito. Sinabi ko nga kay Desmond na maiinip lang siya na ako ang kasama niya pero hindi siya natinag at tinuloy pa rin ang pagpunta dito.

Even though I'm afraid, I'm still happy because this is my first time here. I've never experienced going to amusement parks because my parents don't want me to go outside. They kept me inside our house, the reason why I was always alone.

Ang dami ko palang hindi naranasan dahil sa nakulong ako at ang dami ko ring hindi nagawa noong nakatali pa ang buhay ko sa mga magulang ko.

"Tayo na," I said, and I can feel the excitement in my body. This feeling is new to me, and I'm wondering if it will be a regret that I went here with Desmond, but it doesn't matter for now because I want to enjoy it for once.

"Ibig mong sabihin, tayo na talaga?" he questioned with his lips curled up, the reason why my forehead creased. Confusion was drawn on my face.

"Are you speaking an alien language? I can't understand you, and you're getting weird in my eyes, Desmond," I admitted, but he just chuckled and went outside to open the door for me.

"Let's go," yaya niya at kaagad akong tumango bilang sagot.

We went to the entrance, and I saw the fee was nine hundred pesos every weekend. I was about to take out my wallet, but Desmond stopped me. "Ako na," he insisted, and I just awkwardly nodded. This is the first time someone did this for me.

Nakakuha na kami ng ticket at pumasok na kami sa loob ng Enchanted Kingdom. Panay ang pagtatago ko sa likuran ni Desmond at parang nabuo ang takot sa akin dahil mas marami pala talagang tao dito kapag Sabado at Linggo.

I'm not into crowded places, and it gives me anxiety as if I want to get back inside of my comfort zone.

"Don't worry, you have me," Desmond assured me, and probably he felt that something was wrong with me because I keep distancing myself from people.

I let out a sigh and stepped beside Desmond. I was fidgeting my fingers, and my eyes kept twitching, trying to adjust to this kind of environment.

"Saan mo gustong sumakay?" tanong niya at kaagad akong nagkibit ng balikat dahil wala naman akong alam sa lugar na ito.

"Okay, then let's start with Anchor's away!" he chanted like a kid, and I just nodded with my lips formed into a smile. He pointed the Anchor's away, and I automatically froze when I saw it swaying as if it's really on the sea.
