Chapter 41: Arrest
"As the examiner said, he found some prints that don't match me. It simply means that there's a big possibility that those fingerprints that don't match me might belong to the killer. He might have taken my fingerprints before the plan."
"That spear point knife doesn't belong to me, and I have never seen it before. Thank you," he confessed and even pointed the weapon.
"Does the prosecution have any questions?" the judge asked, and Austin stood up being confident and firm. He cleared his throat first before answering the judge.
"Yes, Your Honor," his attention went to Morde, and he took a moment to establish his question to him. I was praying and hoping that Morde could answer Austin's question. They are both good, but who will win this time?
"If you're wondering why the police arrived just as you, maybe some concerned citizen called them before you got there. But who will frame you up, Attorney Fallian?" Austin questioned, and it was a nerve-wracking moment because those two were clever when it comes to the court, but the question is, who's the killer?
"If that concerned citizen called the police, then why didn't you get him or her as a witness? That concerned citizen can stand as a witness, but why didn't you bring him or her?"
They have so many conjectures, but I'm only believing in Morde. He's right that the concerned citizen can stand as a witness, but Austin didn't bring the one who called the police.
"How about the phone number of the concerned citizen, Attorney Austin?
"But to answer your question, I believe that someone framed me up. My father is a wise man, and he doesn't have enemies. I divulged that someone planned all these things, and that person is against my success. Rivalry doesn't exist in my vocabulary before, but that person pushed me through my limits," he professed, and everyone was tensed to know who this person Morde was talking about.
"Then, why did you run away? Isn't that an act of being guilty?" Austin even smirked when he interrogated Morde again, and I can't help but be annoyed because of his tone.
"That's funny, Attorney, but the reason why I ran away is that I want to do the investigation myself. Someone controlled the evidence to point out that I'm the one who killed my father," Morde replied with such confidence, and it doesn't bother him at all if everyone is gossiping already.
