Sera has been in a coma for thousands of years, thanks to the witch bitch Qetsiyah. Stuck in an endless sleep, she is plagued with endless images of death from the eyes of her parents's doppelgängers, more recently a woman named Elena Gilbert.
When a group of stupid vampires stumbles into her father's tomb looking for the cure for vampirism, she is awakened by someone with her mother's face looking down at her.
