"Hey Adrien!" Marinette waved and smiled at her friend as she passed him on the way into school. He waved back.

"How was your lunch break?" she asked.

"It was fine. Kinda lonely, but I'm used to it by now."

"Oh, I'm sorry Adrien."

"Don't worry about it, Marinette. I'll see you in class." He smiled and walked ahead to talk to Nino.

"Girl, are you good?" Alya said as she grabbed Marinette by the shoulders.

"What do you mean?"

"You just spoke to Adrien like a normal person. It's a miracle!"

"Oh. I guess I did." She shrugged, and kept walking. "I told you, we're just friends. I don't think of him like that anymore."

Alya raised her brows and shook her head. "Whatever you say."

They took their usual seats in Mrs. Bustier's classroom and waited for her to begin teaching, when all of a sudden there was a loud crash outside. A voice called over the loudspeaker, "Akuma alert! Akuma alert!"

Everyone knew the drill at this point and filed out of the classroom and ran home as fast as they could. Marinette made her way to the locker room to transform, but just before she called out the words, Adrien rushed in and knocked her over.

"Oh! Marinette, I'm so sorry. Are you okay?"

"Adrien, what are you doing here? Why aren't you on your way home? It isn't safe here."

"I... uh... was looking for... you!" He said the last word a little too loud, and scratched the back of his neck. "Wait a second, what are you doing in here?"

"Oh, haha, I was... well I was... actually looking for you." She pointed at him and laughed awkwardly. "Yep, that's what I was doing." She looked down at the ground and sighed. She would have to wait and find a better place to transform.

"Oh, well I guess we both better get out of here then, huh? Since we... found each other."

"I guess you're rig—" Before she could finish talking the door swung open again. A girl dressed as a gingerbread man walked through. "Where's Chloe?" she yelled at them as she pulled a giant doughnut out of her oven shaped purse and prepared to throw it at them.

"We don't know," Adrien said without hesitation.

Beside him, Marinette rolled her eyes as she thought of how many people Chloe had gotten akumatized.

She was pulled out of her thoughts when Adrien tackled her to the ground just in time to keep her from getting hit in the head with a giant doughnut.

Adrien blushed and quickly stood up. As he helped Marinette stand, he noticed that she was hardly phased by what was happening. He was impressed by how brave she was. He couldn't help but smile.

A glowing purple butterfly appeared on the girl's face and Hawkmoth's voice rang clearly in her mind. "Desserter, don't waste your time with these two. They are useless. Find Ladybug and Chat Noir."

Adrien let out a sigh of relief when she turned to leave the same way that she had come in. He looked over to Marinette, but she was already running out the door.

Marinette found an empty classroom to transform in. She hoped that Chat Noir had already found his way to the school.

She swung up to the top of the roof where she found him waiting for her. "Hey kitty. What's the sitch?"

"Can't you guess? She's looking for Chloe."

"What did she do this time?"

"From what I can gather, she insulted her pastries at the opening of her new bakery. She calls herself Desserter.

"Of course she did. Do you know where the akuma is?"

"I thought I'd leave that up to you, m'lady. I can't do everything around here."

Ladybug giggled. Chat looked at her in confusion. She never laughed at his jokes. He shrugged it off. Maybe she was just in a good mood.

"Well my best guess is her purse. That's where she's pulling all of the food from."

They moved closer to get a better look. Desserter was searching in every classroom and closet for Chloe. Once she found them all empty, she made her way to Le Grand Paris Hotel.

They made a quick plan, then ran to catch her before she could make it to Chloe.

Chat Noir landed a few feet in front of Desserter. "I'm a little hungry. Do you have anything sweet?" He called out to her, trying to keep her attention away from ladybug.

"How's this for sweet?" She hurled a banana cream pie in his face. Chat Noir wiped it off and licked his finger.

"Hey, that's pretty good."

Desserter stopped in her tracks. Her face lit up and she clapped her hands together. "You really think so? It's a new recipe and I wasn't sure if I had it quite right yet."

"Oh yeah. I think it's perfect. What else do you have?" Chat said, as his eyes lit up at the thought of another treat.

Desserter's face once again glowed with Hawkmoth's butterfly. "Don't you see what he's trying to do? He's wants to distract you. Stay focused, and keep an eye out for ladybug. She could be anywhere."

Desserter started to look around in search of Ladybug. Chat tried but he couldn't keep her attention.

"Looking for me?" Ladybug asked, stepping out from behind a chimney." She had her lucky charm in hand. She still had no idea what she was going to do with a baking pan, but for the moment she held it in front of her like a shield.

Desserter pelted Ladybug with a batch of cookies, which she blocked with her lucky charm.

She swung down from her vantage point and landed next to Chat Noir.

"So much for the plan." He said as he pulled his baton out and prepared for a fight. "Any idea what to do with that?"

"I'm trying to figure it out." They dodged flying food from every direction as she looked around for something she could use to make her lucky charm useful.

"Maybe you can make me some cookies." he grinned.

"Maybe later, kitty." After a minute, her face lit up as she figured it out. "I think I've got it."

...................................................

"Bye bye little butterfly." Ladybug threw her lucky charm in the air and watched as everything was repaired. "You were pretty great Chat Noir." She said with a slight blush washing over her face.

"I'm muffin without you, bugaboo." He winked.

"You're baking me crazy with all of these puns." She laughed at herself.

"You know you love them." He put out his fist for a fist bump.

"Yeah, I do." She winked back at him and fist bumped him. "Pound it."

Chat was speechless.

"What's the matter? Cat got your tongue?" She giggled before she threw her yoyo and swung away.

He stood watching her in awe until his ring beeped and reminded him that he needed to get back to school.
