FUNERAL

Shock prolongs grief, and it's beginning to swallow Eden whole. It claws at her insides, gnawing away at her tender flesh, and sharpening the axe that was to separate her head from her torso. Cedric Diggory was dead, and Eden Willow has cried herself blue in the face, strangled by her grief that tightens like a noose, tighter, and tighter.

Numbing the constant anguish struggling within her is an arduous task, and she can't help it after the first bottle of burning liquor is consumed, the first pill, the millionth cigarette between her lips. She's living on a high to numb the lowest point of her life, and maybe, just maybe, she could close her eyes and feel the fleeting kisses of the past on her lips, and bathe in the honeyed memories that brought color to her life.

It's crashing down from her high on a humid summer morning, buzzing in her ears, and ringing in her ears, when Eden Willow finally remembers once again. Cedric Diggory is never coming back.
