Emma's P.O.V.

He wouldn't shut up. Bickering about football again. When will he stop, who knows. It's not even 7 am. That's just stupid. Just because he has to take us to school, doesn't mean that he should be yelling at a replay of the Seahawks and the Chiefs when they can't hear him in Mississippi. Idiot.

"Edward, wake up or get the burnt toast," my mom said to my little brother.

"Coming!" I heard him coming down stairs.

"Are you going to the dance this weekend?" Mom asked.

"She can't. She's grounded." Charlie, my moms new husband considering my dad died, yelled at her.

"If you go, I'll lift your punishment," mom whispered to me.

"If you do that, she'll have to go with a date," Charlie said.

"I'm not going."

"You sure sweetie?" Mom asked.

"Yeah. No one likes me so I'm not going."

"Okay. I think you should go, but I won't make you."

"Thanks mom."

"Here I am!" Edward came in wearing his batman shirt and jeans.

I'm 16 and Edward is 8. 8 years a part.

"Is there any toast left that is not burnt?"

"I saved you some little man." I told him.

"I told you not to call me that Em."

"As long as you call me Em, I'm calling you little man."

"Fine," he said rolling his eyes and throwing his arms in the air.

I gave him the toast. He eats it faster than a mice eating cheese.

"We leave in ten minutes!" Charlie yelled.

I go back upstairs. Once I get upstairs, I close the door. A date. A f***** date. Why in the hell would I have to have a date. Talk about unfair. I grab my razor necklace and my book bag and head back down stairs.

"Ready." I call out.

"Me too," Edward says.

"Let's go then," Charlie says and heads out outside to the truck.

First day of junior year, here I come.
