P E N E L O P E S A N D E R S had always felt different to other girls in Salem. Different to all mankind in fact. While mortality and humanity reigned in the hearts of all other Massachusetts girls, a darker ruler had possession of Penny's being.

D A R K M A G I C coursed through her veins. Wands and broomsticks formed her bones and her heart pumped out old magic. Her pale skin mirrored the sheet white pages of spellbooks of ages past and her dark eyes flickered like black flames.

A S T H E G R E A T great (only God knew how many greats there were) granddaughter of Sarah Sanderson, Penny Sanders was the only remaining witch in existence to walk the Earth.

W E L L , W I T C H W A S one way of putting it. In fact, despite her potential access to the occult, Penelope had by no means been able to truly harness her magical abilities. This was of no significance to her. Penny was much less focused on summoning demons from hell and cursing her enemies, than she was occupied by the tutoring she so often did to earn herself money. To avoid harassment from the superstitious Salem, Penny kept her past hidden, where it belonged.

H O W E V E R , O N E night, when the young girl she tutors in maths, Dani Dennison whisks her along with her older brother, Max (who she can't stand!) and fellow classmate, Allison, to the abandoned Sanderson cottage and the Black Flame Candle is lit, Winifred, Mary and Sarah are resurrected and Penny is forced to confront the shadows of her past or have Earth forever suffer the consequences.
