Luana, a female werewolf, has found herself a cozy life by herself, far from her wolf brethren. However, the loneliness has begun to get to her, and despite her resistance, she finds herself attracted to the human male who has built his own cabin not far from hers. It's mating season for werewolves and Luana wonders if it's only her wolf instincts influencing her, or if something more fundamental and much deeper is at work. As she gets closer to Kent, she begins to ask herself how she can possibly keep her wolf nature from him, and more seriously: whether he'll even accept her when he finds out. She's only begun to struggle with these questions, however, when a new werewolf shows up in town, hungry, and looking for a mate.
