Taking a deep breath I let the question drift out. "Don't you think I've died enough?" Silence lingers between us and I can tell I caught him offguard. His expression puzzled before returning to a cool mask. "I've never wanted you to die." ********* Her life was a never ending cycle of life and death, never truly living and never truly dying. She was at his mercy. Always waiting for his return at the age of eighteen, destined to be his, only to die in the process. But not anymore. Her life would be different. She would make sure of that. At any cost and at any price. Even if it meant giving up her humanity.
