This is actually a poem inspired by Rabindranath Tagore's story "The Kabuliwala". If you have read this story before, you would know that a girl called Mini, the narrator's daughter is a chatterbox and she knows no bounds when it comes to talking when she is young. She gets along well with the Kabuliwala or Rahamat, but forgets about him later on. The story was written from the narrator's point of view, but my poem will focus entirely on Mini's point of view... This poem is what a rhyming monologue of Mini's would look like. She changes topics from one to the other drastically, as she does in the story. She does not want to go to her in-laws and she expresses her feelings about her father getting distanced slowly from her. Enjoy!
