Distorted reflections, warped realities. These things go hand in hand when it comes to a funhouse mirror. In concept it sounds rather silly, using a plane of reflective glass to play dastardly tricks on the eye. But what if I told you it was more than simply a trick of the light? Would you believe me if I were to tell you that it is not through the eyes but instead through a mirror that one can see the true contents of another's soul? It's alright if you don't. After all, not everyone is strong enough to face the reality beyond the looking glass. Luckily for you, there won't be any need. For you see, this story is not one about you, or about me. This is a story about a young woman beginning her junior year of school in the town of Iwaita, Japan. A fascinating place rich in cultural history and the place Sumire Miyaka has found herself stuck for the unforeseeable future. For most people being thrust into a strange place and staying with someone you barely know is bad enough, but things take a turn for the obscene when people begin vanishing without a trace, almost as if they had been spirited away. Now, for better or for worse Sumire finds herself plagued with strange dreams of a room lined wall to wall with velvet, and of an oddly hunched man who claims that only she can change this town's fate. ________________________________________________ This story is, for all purposes being written for my own amusement as a result of this I cannot promise that I will ever actually finish it. However, if there are enough people interested I will definitely be more motivated to continue.
