❝Even when people have lost hope, they always have faith in the Avatar.❞ ❝Only problem is the Avatar's dead.❞ In which a prince of the Fire Nation chooses to help the Avatar restore peace to the world and hopes to figure out the fog shrouding his memories along the way. Kazuo doesn't remember his life before washing up on the shores of the Earth Kingdom when he was eight. He only knows if it weren't for General Iroh who'd found and shown him kindness, he'd be dead. Taken in to replace the son Iroh had lost, he gained a new title, a home, a family, and a nation to uphold. Whoever Kazuo may have been, he's come to understand that he belonged to the Fire Nation now. He believed it was better that way-with all the whispers heard he was likely abandoned for possibly being a mixed-breed, having the looks of the Water Tribe, yet the eyes of the Fire Nation. In his mind, he chose to believe it wasn't true when he dwelled on it, that he had a family somewhere who wouldn't willingly leave him to die. Years pass, and two years after Kazuo chose to join his cousin Zuko to capture the Avatar, he's fed up with his attitude. Yet when the Avatar proves to be very much real and alive, Kazuo choses what he knows is right and joins him and his friends on his quest. Valuing both his loyalty to his family and his loyalty to his newfound friends, it's up to him to choose which to follow.
