It was foretold that Zeus's first wife, Metis, would have two children. The first being Athena and the second being a son with so much power he would overthrow Zeus. Fearing for his future as a king, Zeus killed Metis. Athena was born, springing out from Zeus's head fully grown. Athena became the goddess of wisdom and she possessed a secret known to only four others, the Fates and Metis. The secret being there was a child before Athena, a son. A son Zeus never knew about for the Fates told Metis to keep him a secret. His name is Perseus and he will avenge his mother's death. Disclaimer: I don't own the Percy Jackson series, Rick does.
