This story describes a scene from the Hindu epic Ramayana where Kaushalya, Lord Ram's mother is begging Ram not to go to the forest where he is sent for exile for fourteen years. Ramayana is the story of Lord Ram, the crown prince of Ayodhya who is banished from his kingdom just before taking over the throne. Along with his wife Sita and little brother Laxman, he starts living in a forest until the ruthless king of Lanka, Ravan, abducts Sita, which sows the seeds of a great war between Ram and Ravana, between good and evil. This short story would appeal to the fans of mythology worldwide and would serve as a beacon of hope for those who are suffering to accept their fate. The idea for writing about this particular scene struck me when I read the poem, A Scene from the Ramayana, by Brij Narain Chakbast. I might post such conversations involving other scenes from the Ramayana pretty soon, so if you are interested in Hindu mythology, keep checking for more!
